What To Expect

Shepherd’s House Church of the Nazarene is a liturgical church with a calm environment.
A "liturgical church" conducts its services by a liturgy — a pattern of worship that has been passed down from tradition.

During each worship service, there are responsive readings, singing, prayers said by everyone, Scriptures read from different books of the Bible, a sermon, a time of greeting called “Passing the Peace”, and Holy Communion.

There is a PowerPoint and physical Handouts to help guide us through the service. If you don’t know some of the words (like Eucharist), that’s okay! The pastor will try to explain them. If you have questions, anyone around you would be happy to help!

Many people with anxiety or trouble focusing have found this structure of service and the calming atmosphere of Shepherd's House to be helpful for them as they seek to engage in worship. You will often see people in our services knitting, writing, or drawing, which we appreciate!

Children are in the worship service as we value an intergenerational worship experience. There is a Small Group Discussion and Children's Church after the service.

No matter who you are or what you come from,
At Shepherd's House, you are safe and you are loved!
