An open and loving atmosphere, rooted in liturgical heritage

The mission of Shepherd’s House Church of the Nazarene is for the congregation to be unified in spirit and truth (John 4:24) as we strive to share the holistic love of God with our surrounding community. We make every effort to be a church that supports and encourages each other through daily life, together, pursuing holiness in our lives. We work to create a better future for each other and our community, proclaiming the Gospel through word and action. We seek together a worship experience that is personal and in line with the heritage of the one, holy, unified, and historic church.

A discussion and children's church follow the service.

What To Expect

Shepherd’s House Church of the Nazarene is a liturgical church with a calm environment.
A "liturgical church" conducts its services by a liturgy — a pattern of worship that has been passed down from tradition.

During each worship service, there are responsive readings, singing, prayers said by everyone, Scriptures read from different books of the Bible, a sermon, a time of greeting called “Passing the Peace”, and Holy Communion.

There is a PowerPoint and physical Handouts to help guide us through the service. If you don’t know some of the words (like Eucharist), that’s okay! The pastor will try to explain them. If you have questions, anyone around you would be happy to help!

Many people with anxiety or trouble focusing have found this structure of service and the calming atmosphere of Shepherd's House to be helpful for them as they seek to engage in worship. You will often see people in our services knitting, writing, or drawing, which we appreciate!

Children are in the worship service as we value an intergenerational worship experience. There is a Small Group Discussion and Children's Church after the service.

No matter who you are or what you come from,
At Shepherd's House, you are safe and you are loved!

Circle Church:
Our Sister Church

Circle Church is the sister congregation of Shepherd's House. Circle Church is also a welcoming liturgical church that engages the biblical lectionary and partakes of Holy Communion each Sunday. However, the liturgy and engagement with the Scriptures look different from Shepherd's House. The main difference in the communities is that Shepherd's House has a sermon each Sunday and Circle Church discusses the Scriptures together instead of having a main sermon within its worship service.

If you think you and your family could better engage with this kind of worship, then we encourage you to visit Circle Church! If you don't know which one you would engage with more, visit both!
